Sol's offspring / ground sparring
I was telling Dana some joke about Jesper reading a book about imps, differentiating between wild and domestic imps, and talking about how hybridization between them isn't possible.
After Sol mates with Jesper, and he leaves to go back home with Yarrow, I was imagining her having this whole conversation about whether or not Kena thought she could have children. (She has a similar conversation with Nona, she's just excited.)
Kena without thinking, makes some offensive comment about it.
"If you could have offspring, with Jesper---this one would have an imp with no wings."
Sol huffs up.
"What is wrong with no wings!"
"Ohh..."
"That would be misery, huh! More useless imps with no wings!"
"Sol, I did not mean---"
"You are so lucky I do not slash your own wings, mangle you, render you useless too!"
These two have communication issues for real, but they work through it. Kena doesn't hold any ill will towards Jesper for being a naturally wingless, domesticated imp, and never cared that Sol is wingless, but Kena tends to say things without thinking first. Sol probably lays into him for some time before relenting, but she probably gets in a good bite or two on Kena first.
I also went on to Dana about how I could see Sol being able to stand her own ground super well if an imp were to honor a challenge with her on the ground. Then I considered that perhaps ground sparring challenges are an actual thing that the whole den participates in to hone their offensive skills instead of relying solely on their usual ambushing methods. Love the idea that Sol is a large part of these and incredibly talented. Ironically, I could see this have been something she wasn't initially allowed to take part in, until she was older and probably had to beg just to join.
Also have been imagining Jesper jokingly joining in, but he is not a fighter whatsoever, so it's more of, wrestling... which just turns into a bunch of imps piling on him and turning into a silly game of rough housing.
